I think if we are going to go to war we need to have a reason. I'm not exactly informed to the utmost extent about our other worldly wars but I do know a couple issues that may influence whether we stay in or pull out. If there really isn't anymore reason to stay and fight in Afganistan, then the correct ethical thing to do is to pull out. However, we are creating a pattern and digging ourselves a hole. America is getting a reputation for coming into a war and tearing its civilization to pieces then abandoning them. If we continue with this pattern, we could be setting ourselves up for one giant terrorist hit or even another World War. So technically I guess there is no right answer. We just need to commit to one decision...no wishy washy stuff...and let the chips fall.
Hey Senator! How are you feeling?

Good point Anne. Or should I say, "All or nothing Anney." Ha ha. If we do stay, we will need to reevaluate what the mission is. I wonder if we could stay in a non-militray sense. Many people work for al Qaeda because there is no other jobs, other than growing opium. What if we helped them grow food, and used that food to feed the people of starving nations?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! However, would the be very accepting of a country who is currently failing economically coming in to help them economically? -
