I think there are several different things that are of basic importence in our education. I would agree with most of the previous posts that person-person and person-community interactions are definitely a large part of our education. Also encompassed in this is the ability to listen. Another thing to consider is learning processes (particularly in math you must learn a process --your answer might be wrong but if you did the process correctly you have a grasp of the process. Another important lesson for students is to follow orders. America is a structuralized society (as are most others) you have a boss, you follow the bosses orders or you get fired. During your education career you are expected to follow orders or there will be reprocussions this is preparing you for a future career.
