Banana Pancakes (New ?)

Ok so I have a new question for everyone. Respond if you like. With all the sickness going around right now what would be a more reasonable option? To just let kids leave school when they feel sick or get a tempature over 100 degrees, or to take a three day sick day for the entire school and basically say everyone needs to stay at home and home alone for the next three days, by doing this it should truthfully break the cycle of sickenss and then everyone could return to school at least a little better.

  1. I say that we should have a three day sick time thing because it would stop the spread of the illness in school and we can have fewer people stay home sick ecspecially from yesterday with 50 someodd kids gone.

  2. I would say you make a good point. Unfortunatley, the state may count this against our snow days. Also, some parents use the school as a "baby sitter", so there might parents that cannot afford to take off work for three days, etc. But, I do think you have a valid point here. I just think it might be a nightmare for the administration. -QE

  3. QE definitely has a point. For the children in Junior high and High School it wouldn't be as big of a problem, however younger children would find it a problem. I can understand why we don't really take this approach...as we have a four day school week already we can't really afford to lose 3 days during the week. A question I would like to pose: "Do children who are exposed to other children (sickness specifically) have a slimmer chance of becoming ill at different times during the year? (I.E. Does a certain amount of immunity build up?) -HQ
